Before forming Elastic Collision, the company's cofounders were actively involved in a wide range of virtual world projects, including:
- creating a casual cross-media game to promote the film The Nines for Newmarket Pictures,
- overseeing the construction of the Community Patent Review on New York Law School's Democracy Island,
- designing Second Life based diversity trainings for WeComply,
- conducting a comprehensive survey of more than 900 Second Life residents on behalf of France Telecom,
- using virtual worlds in the college classroom as a component of courses on ethnographic research methods, game design, and on-line promotion,
- planning and supervising the implementation of virtual world productivity tools to support daily business operations of one of the world's largest professional service firms,
- co-authoring a machinima presentation on the political implications of virtual worlds for the Center on Public Diplomacy at USC Annenberg, and
- organizing and co-chairing State of Play V: Building the Global Metaverse in Singapore.
